probably best if simon and carmen stay out of lift sharing or it could all get very complex - they are staying on after lundy so wont be going back straight away.

debra and simon F likewise not able to liftshare for similar reasons

I would definately suggest an ab rope and prussics per team - if anyone abs down to the wrong route and finds they cant climb up again they will be needing a way out! some abseil and prussicing practice would be a good idea before we go - if anyone hasnt done this before I'm yac can  arrange a session between us

Hi guys

The balance of the money for Lundy will be due on 20th may so I want to get all bookings finalised before then. there are currently four places still available, but I believe Paul and probably Jamie would like to take up two of them. That leaves two places available.  If you would like to go then drop me a line - its primarily a  climbing meet , the island is only a couple of miles long, but the climbing and location are fantastic - get your £30 deposit to me (payable to York Alpine Club), and be ready to have the balance paid by 20th may. Prices have not increased much since we booked, so assuming we fill all the places the balance for accomodation will be £61 per person . You will also need to book your ferry places , and the advice is to also do this around three months beforehand ie in may.

(Cef, you have already paid the full £2010 amount so just need to pay the extra £3 increase for 2011 prices )

for more details of this trip see the forum post http://yorkalpineclub.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=61.0 (main bit helpfully pasted in for you below)

In the unlikely event that there are still unfilled places by mid april I will then open the trip up to non club members

on an unrelated subject - dont forget, everyone, you have to check in to your flight online beforehand and print off your boarding pass, you dont do it at the airport!!!! you need your passport number to do this.

hi steve, it would probably be better if I drive us all down to stanstead and pick you and paula up from west york (i think thats where you live?) en route, as leaving cars parked at askam bryan college car park for a week is not feasable and its a pig to get to without a car, so its no good as a pick up/meeting  place for holidays. Cef doesnt seem to be picking up email at present although I can try his phone, but he lives very near me, so its very easy for me to pick him up. I'v been trying to get hold of him to discuss transport sharing before making firm arrangements.

I assume we could easily switch the car park booking at stanstead from your car to mine.

sadly I think rob may be right on Etna - a shame. Guess I'm gulty of doing what we accuse australians and americans of when they visit britain - "you live in york? you must know my friends in Skye then!"

i was thinking of taking a day off from climbing to pay a visit to Mt Etna one day (from a safe distance) if you fancy it karen? live volcanos are a bit special in my view and merit taking a bit of time off from climbing
