Yep I can make Tuesday, not sure about climbing, have laid off climbing all last week, so hoping it will be ok.  but will come along any way to meet up and catch up with all the complicated arrangements!  Oh and to meet anyone that I have not seen before - it's too late to back out now folks!

Sorry I can't make tonight, problem with my wrist, so trying to rest it before we go away! Brilliant timing eh?

Hoping I can make one night next week, can be flexible, to suit others?

Debbie and I are taking 60m rope, 15 quickdraws, 2 slings, 2 belay devices, 5 screwgates/carabina things between us. Also both have Rockfax book.  Hope that's what we decided Debbie?????  Took out insurance with BMC too!

Sorry I haven't joined in earlier.  Can't get away outdoor climbing the weekend of the 28th, shame as it would have been beneficial - will have to have a baptism of fire in Spain!  As debs said we could do a couple of hours on the saturday at Oaklands and I could also get to Oaklands on Friday night?

Yes 28th March, should be ok for me :)

Just wondered if it would be worth meeting up to sort out some of these issues, ie. gear, cars, books etc face to face.  Debbie and I will be at the climbing wall, Oaklands on Thursday night.  We usually arrive at 7pm.  We could get a cuppa and sort stuff out if this suits anyone????? Just follow the smell of cheesy climbing shoes :)

I usually get my travel insurance through the post office, but guess what? They don't insure for climbing! It's official, it's dangerous!  Gulp!  :o  Any suggestions/ideas - what do others do?

Now that's more like it - mention of cake - I'll be a willing volunteer to be involved in making and eating!

On the subject of volunteer drivers.  If there are enough volunteers I rather not, but if necessary I will take on the challenge.

My driving history is three years in Hong Kong - I survived, which is an achievement, anyone that has been will understand the congestion and need to be a very very assertive driver, but at that time driving was on the left hand side, as here.  Last year I drove in France, first time on the right hand side.  Once I got the hang of it, I was fine.  Although the combination of bad road signs, gear stick on what I consider the wrong side and three unsympathetic teenage boys (who incidently didn't even drive at the time) was extremely stressful!  But we got there in the end! Unscathed as well!

If we are short of volunteers, perhaps I could be a second driver.  Having the advantage of studying the other driver, location and car before jumping straight in.

Debbie and I are travelling to Manchester Airport in Debbie's car and getting the flight to Alicante (that the majority are also on).  We, however, are coming back a day earlier than most, on the Saturday, flying from Murcia back to Manchester and then driving back to York in Debbies car that should be waiting for us at Manchester airport.

Not sure where the Doncaster part came in.

Hope that clarifies.

Oh shame the 'drunken olive tossing' house is full - sounds just mine and Debbie's cup of tea! :)

If anyone wants to come in with Debbie and I, not usually up at the crack of dawn, particularly if Spanish plonk has been consumed the night before, please let us know.

Sounds good a mixture of eating out and a few communal meals.  :)
