Polensa is probably the besta rea to head for, its up north way

I vote for Mallorca - it was a good trip last time and it's been awhile since we went. I remember the house being quite good and some options for the day off.

re what area - we atyed up near polensa last night ans its a good place but could look further afield
over towards the east coast - would be MUCH less developed touristy wise (hence nicer but maybe not
so cheap villas and lack of shops

)

I'm not bothered - the island's small enough that we managed to get to crags on the other side of the island anyway.
Which crags have the longest walk ins? It maybe makes sense to be closer to these?

There are loads of large cheapish villas in pollensa (spelling??) - we could ALL possibly stay in the same villa for a change if went for this area.
