with the idea of leaving York by 10:00 am.

Why are we leaving York at 10am when it's 2 hours to Manchester and the flight is at 2.30?

based on its better to be early than late...

I guess we need to check in around 1:00. 

Yes it may take us 2 hours to get to the car parking but it could also take 3 1/2 hours.... The M62 did this recently to me when I had to get to Liverpool for 11:00 am, I left York at 8:15 am and made it with 3 minutes to spare !!!!!

The car parking is 15-20 minutes away from the airport, so if we arrive at the parking by 12, transfer bags, faf about, drive to the airport, check in, try and get through security with all the climbing stuff,  I would say it is the time to try and set off.

I'd leave at 11.  But obvious some people like to allow a bit more slack in the timetable!

11 hmm - 2 hrs to macny airport = 1  - leave 90 mins to get to airport from parking and check in - sounds tigt to me.

I'd be qute hapy with meet at 10 to leave at 10.15..10:30 - cefs ore worried about  traffic - i dont know about it on Sat at that time

No point creating stress for people at the start of a holiday, may as well stick with plan A, it's not stupidly early.  Will just take a good book for the airport

well good luck to you all - I know a lot of effort went into the plan for getting to the airport together.

I'm taking a train - luckily the planned engineering works closing my station are happening on Sunday phew
