If anybody is short of gear then Carmen and I can probably help out with spares - the only thing we may not have extras of is quickdraws.

I have slings plus krabs plus about 15 quickdraws. I will be getting some leaver krab thingies (prob from DIY store suggested by Rob) as I reckin they are a good thing to have anyway. Alan has two shiny new twin ropes and in addition I will be carrying his 60 metre rope in my rucksac. I am also planning to take a small set of nuts. or shoould that be set of small nuts. or small set of small nuts. anyway you know what i mean.

Debbie and I are taking 60m rope, 15 quickdraws, 2 slings, 2 belay devices, 5 screwgates/carabina things between us. Also both have Rockfax book.  Hope that's what we decided Debbie?????  Took out insurance with BMC too!

Yep, my 2 new ropes are 60m skinnies (8.5mm), so with Peri bringing the older (bit not much used) 60m single there's plenty spare.
I'll be bringing wires, a small rack of larger stuff, enough quicks to clip 15 plus 4 slings and a getout kit (prussiks, spare tape, biner) and a knife so I can do my Simon Yates impression if (I'm not using my own rope).

Anybody want to go multi-pitching with me?

we're going to have so many ropes we won't know what to do with them all  ;) - for those of you bringing multiple ropes - are you going to be able to fit any clothes or shoes or maybe your harness into your luggage allowance? I know last year I was just under the limit with my rope, harness, various bits of tat and hardware and my clothes.

we have a massive 20kg (+10 hand i think) allowance this year - although w still have to get it all in the cars so some termperance would be good.

if you ar anywhere near to your limit (ro anyone else come to that)  shout now and we can share or swap who brings what.

clothes - what other than a tshirt and pair of socks !

It's 20kg + 5kh hand luggage.  ie total is just as rubbish as ryanair, but split better between hold and cabin.

One and a half pairs of socks is enough.
Day 1: 2 socks worn and one spare
Day 2: Left sock goes on right foot, clean sock on left foot, spare in wash
Day 3: Washed one goes on left foot, left sock is moved onto right foot, right sock gets washed.
Day 4, as day 3.
etc ad infinitum (till they wear out  :o)

day 5. Crack troops in biohazard suits surround the crag and take alan and robs socks out. Alan and Rob's socks resist fiercely and there are heavy casualties, mostly due to inhalation of toxic gas.
