Sicily ...
« on: January 22, 2010, 06:35:04 pm »

After much messing about and debating  I've booked to go to Siciiy (as its somewhere i've fancied for
a few years) with Jules, Pete and Tracy (well I hope they're coming as i've paid for the flights now!)

  • Where Sicily - around the north ish
  • 20..27 March 2010
  • Ryanair (yuk) from  Stansted to Palermo (PMO) 130 quid each (cheaper flight Luton to Trapani with ryan but bad timing)
  • no accom as yet - various options available camping .,apartments.
  • favouring multiple smaller 4..5 berth apt things for flexibilty on numbers

  • If People want to come along that's great and i'll offer to co-ordinate stuff and make it the YAC trip
  • If people want to go elsewhere that is also fine (obviously) but I wont sort it :-)

We're coming  :)

The guidebook is £30! Presumably less if you buy it in Italy. I may get one anyway.

The guidebook is 28.50 Euros. But shipping to the UK would be 13 Euros (or 19 Euros for 2 copies) so about the same price as buying it in the UK.

.... so I know Lundy is REALLY exciting but that's in 2011 folks... it's 2010 now and we're looking at escaping to some Italian snow, sleet, rain, flooding and oh yeah sunshine??? Anyone else joining us? Four of us already have tickets... and have begun the research into ill-equipped and questionably decorated flats.....time's running out!!

only problem being that Etna is on the other side of the island to the main climbing areas - doable, but a 4 hour drive each way!
It's quite close to a small town called Corleone though...

Ok so this is a last ditch effort to get people to join in on YAC Sicily 2010! Guaranteed to bring lots of rain, cloud, sleet and maybe a little   sunshine so if you'd like to join us please let us know by Friday, yes by 29 Jan 2010 as we are booking accommodation this weekend.

So far we've got Rob, Julie, Pete B, me, Simon and Carmen booked on the flight. Those wavering are Cef, Pete E, Andrew and Alan.

Thanks to both of you for the clarification... and I might add both of you were off Rob's list where I got my info from... silly me for relying on Rob's English and typing skills. :D
