I like the idea of Mallorca - looked at accommodation options and some even included flights and car hire for a good price

Just been looking at some of the destinations - most of the crag photos from Cyprus look less than inspiring.
I then moved onto the Ariege - as never heard of it.  It looks well good  :)  Lots of different climbing areas, rock types and multi-pitch - some within walking distance, others short drive away.
I even found a gite for 10-12 people at a good price (well didn't get as far as checking avaialbility). At this point as I was getting quite excited - but then I thought I should check out the weather - as this had been my original doubt with France early in the year.  "Spring is the season with the least predictable weather. April can see long stretches of cold, rainy days followed by glorious sun and mild temperatures. The sun is more reliable the second half of May but hikers may still encounter snow at high elevations".  I'm not too  sure about taking the risk to see whether we strike it lucky weather wise.  Also, mention of some bird bans in the Spring.  How about an autumn trip instead sometime, maybe next year? Autumn: Generally beautiful, dry sunny weather until late October.

Can't be bothered to look at anything else for the mo.  More than happy to go with Mallorca - only been the once and it's quite a while since that trip.

Surely you know by now that if YAC organised a trip to the Sahara Desert then it would manage to snow...

You don't really expect to get 12 people to commit to anything by tomorrow do you?!?!
The end of the month could be pushing it ;)

What I did think was that I could perhaps get a core group to commit and than the rest could try their luck in the same flight....

Lots of options to get to Palma. Prices below are return flights excluding bags, booking fees, bribes, etc.
eg from Manchester (flybe) 3rd to 10th April, currently £22 return
Manchester (Easyjet) 2nd-9th £100 - so could go out with Easyjet vreturn with flybe for £63 ish
East Midlands (flybe) 2nd-9th £69
Leeds (Ryanair) 2nd-10th (Saturday to Sunday) £42
Liverpool (Ryanair) 2nd-10th (Saturday to Sunday) £56
etc

I found the emails about the place we got last time, but it's no longer listed on their website.
And the other place we considered, the website now only lists places in Costa Blanca.
But I think Traceeey's been looking?

I have been looking. Best thing to do is choose a flight - of course my vote is for a london based flight.... and set time limit for joining trip. How bout by 16 jan he/she who wants to says so otherwise out of luck.... I can't believe I'll say this but I will look for accommodation... it was James Villas last time

we got any direct contact for them that was such a good place? wonder if DE has any more info

owners direct villas is another option

16th is bit bloody early only giving people a week and spmoe have to sort holidays etc - id suggest 2 weeks which is just about end of Jan. People kike pete evans seem to read their email once a week !

We don't have to all fly from the same place. I expect most of us will opt for Leeds/Manchester/somewhere northern, as they're cheaper to get to and usually park at.
Personally I'll probably be guided by flight times, ie which gives us the longest trip. Which will partly be influenced by accommodation, whether there's scope for a Saturday to Sunday let.

It was James Villas, and the property was called Christi, everything was done via James.

I agree, 16th is too optimistic for YAC, end of the month is more realistic  :)

Just trying to be organised! I've looked at the owners' direct site and they offer free car hire.
