Just been looking at some of the destinations - most of the crag photos from Cyprus look less than inspiring.
I then moved onto the Ariege - as never heard of it. It looks well good
Lots of different climbing areas, rock types and multi-pitch - some within walking distance, others short drive away.
I even found a gite for 10-12 people at a good price (well didn't get as far as checking avaialbility). At this point as I was getting quite excited - but then I thought I should check out the weather - as this had been my original doubt with France early in the year. "Spring is the season with the least predictable weather. April can see long stretches of cold, rainy days followed by glorious sun and mild temperatures. The sun is more reliable the second half of May but hikers may still encounter snow at high elevations". I'm not too sure about taking the risk to see whether we strike it lucky weather wise. Also, mention of some bird bans in the Spring. How about an autumn trip instead sometime, maybe next year? Autumn: Generally beautiful, dry sunny weather until late October.
Can't be bothered to look at anything else for the mo. More than happy to go with Mallorca - only been the once and it's quite a while since that trip.
