so it's time to stop moaning about the cold and start complaining about the heat. Which is what we duly did at Wharncliff on Tuesday.
We started with a few obscurities – Ladder Crack (Diff), Biffo (S) and Wobbly Block (VD, though I made it look much harder), before returning to the beaten track. Richard led Hell Gate (VDiff – but felt harder with the polish); we all soloed Hell Gate Gully (Mod); and Carmen led Himmelswillen (VS).
Much use was made of knees by all concerned.

Likewise me and helen had a lovely evening wokingvthe latecshiftvat almscliff. It was t shirt climbing till the sun went down, just the teeniest breeze to keep the winged minions of the night away. Suprisingly the crag wasnt that busy – think the dismal weather has got peole out of the habit of going outdoors this year. As usual sunset at the cliff was spectacular, the crags turning gold in the late sunlight, and Helen did her first trad lead since starting her family, so an excellent evening all round.
