Paul and I flexed a day off last week and headed to the popular end of Stanage, in what turned out to be a scorching hot day. When we parked there was a fair breeze to keep you cool but under the crag with sunlight reflecting off the rock we rapidly melted.

With bad weather forecast for Saturday, we decided to have that as our travel day for the ferry over to Arran, so friday would be a day on the Cobbler...

Donal wanted to get of of Yorkshire to do some longer routes so Rob, Donal and I headed across to Borrowdale to Sheperd’s Crag. This is a crag I’ve never been to but always quite fancied Little Chamonix, the classic 3-star VDiff of the crag.

A new crag for us, not far off the M62 about 75mins and 55 miles from York, Paul and I got an early start and headed west....

Last week with dry weather we've had we headed for Raven's Scar on the NYM. Paul,Justine, Carmen and I arrived first, Simon was wandering around the hillside and Will turned up a little later.

Having had a humbling evening bouldering at Slipstones on Saturday, I decided a quick mountain bike ride was the order of the day on Sunday. Another Bank holiday weekend at the end of May gave the chance to travel a bit further afield to Blackrock cottage in Glencoe. This is the picture postcard cottage often seen on highland photos, with Buachaille Etive Mor looming large in the background.

The nice weather arrived in force this weekend so Karl, Catherine and myself decided we must take advantage. The location, Froggatt, a lovely gritstone edge set above a woodland hill side in the heart of the Peak District. Still trying to take advantage of the nice evening weather we (Carmen and myself) headed to Brimham Rocks, via Harrogate (oops). There we met up with Jamie and Simon and headed off to Canon Rock where, despite being terrified of the route from a previous time seconding it, Carmen was keen to have a go at Maloja (VS 4c).
